Katika doesn’t understand why nobody sees her

I sit here looking at the photos of Katika.

The way she stands at the bars. The way she wants to get out. The way she just wants to be seen.

She is still so young. She should be running across fields, cuddling with her person, falling asleep tired from playing, and experiencing something good every single day.

Instead, she is sitting in a shelter.

And you can tell how desperate she is about it. She bites the bars because she just wants to get out. Not because she is aggressive, but because she wants to live.

She sees the other dogs there. Dogs who have been waiting for so long. Dogs people keep passing by.

And maybe she is afraid that the same thing will happen to her.

But she is simply kind. Truly kind.

She loves people, wants to play, cuddle, and belong. That’s all she wants.

But Katika doesn’t know about breed lists.

She doesn’t understand why some people reject dogs like her right away.

All she knows is:

that she wants to be loved.

And that she would probably love her person unconditionally every single day.

Maybe the right person will read this and finally take Katika out of that kennel.
