Our Team
Éva and Laci – the heart of the shelter in Debrecen
Éva and Laci have built a small, private shelter in Debrecen that has become the last hope for many dogs in need. For many years, the two have been dedicating themselves tirelessly to animals that have been abandoned, abused or rescued from the kill station.
About ten years ago, they began transforming an old farm piece by piece into a safe haven. While Laci uses his great craftsmanship to build, repair and maintain almost everything himself, Éva devotes herself to all other tasks: rescuing dogs from the streets, taking them from the kill station, caring for the animals, providing medical care, and organizing the entire daily shelter routine. In addition, Éva is also involved in educational work – in schools and kindergartens, she teaches children how to treat animals with respect.
They are also supported by a small team of volunteers from Hungary, Germany and Austria, who accompany them in placing the dogs in loving, suitable homes.
Together they create – with great commitment, courage and compassion – a little piece of hope every day for those who have no voice of their own.
