About Rudi
Rudi – a lovely Dachshund looking for his forever home
Unfortunately, we do not know exactly what Rudi’s life was like before he was rescued. What we do know is that he spent most of his time living outdoors and was often found wandering the streets on his own.
He would frequently stay in front of a shop and follow people who happened to pass by. Rudi would simply walk along with them, perhaps because he enjoyed their company and wanted to feel that he belonged somewhere.
But this kind of life was dangerous for him. When our foster team saw Rudi there, it quickly became clear that they could not simply leave him behind. The risk of him eventually being hit by a car was far too great. They took him with them and brought him to safety.
Rudi is now staying at the Debrecen Animal Shelter in Hungary. He is around four years old and is a lovely, friendly Dachshund.
Since we do not know whether Rudi has ever lived in a house before, his future family should be prepared for the fact that life as a family dog will still be a completely new experience for him. With patience, understanding and loving guidance, he should be given the time he needs to discover all the things that may never have been part of his life before.
Rudi deserves the chance to finally feel safe and truly belong. We are looking for people with whom he will not simply walk alongside for a while, but where he can finally stay and have a real home.
Who will give Rudi the chance to start a new life?
