About Tyson
Tyson is a young mixed-breed male, born in autumn 2022, with a shoulder height of about 55 cm and a weight of approximately 18–20 kg. In November 2023, he was rescued from a kill shelter and has been living ever since at the Puli Animal Welfare Association’s shelter in Debrecen, Hungary, where he has shown himself to be very people-oriented, eager to learn, and full of energy.
He is an active and intelligent dog who needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Tyson is friendly and open towards people, regardless of gender. However, he is not compatible with other dogs and therefore needs a home where he can be kept as the only dog and receive full attention from his caregivers.
One of Tyson’s most remarkable traits is his love for climbing—he is a true escape artist and an excellent climber. For this reason, a securely fenced, escape-proof yard is essential, along with careful supervision, especially during the initial period.
He already walks fairly well on a leash, although he may pull a bit at the beginning due to excitement and curiosity. With calm, consistent handling and regular training, this behavior improves quickly. Overall, Tyson is curious, brave, and eager to explore new experiences.
Tyson is also heartworm-positive, but he is currently under veterinary care and receiving treatment. The condition is manageable, and at present he shows no clinical symptoms or limitations in his daily life.
Tyson is looking for an active home that enjoys exercise, enrichment, and working together with a dog. People who provide clear guidance and support him with loving but consistent training will gain a loyal, motivated, and eager companion.
