Mediterranean Diseases

Upon request, our dogs are tested in Hungary using a snap test (rapid test) for the following diseases:

• Anaplasmosis

• Babesiosis

• Ehrlichiosis

In puppies and young dogs under one year of age, test results are generally only of limited reliability. Possible titer determinations may be influenced by maternal antibodies, meaning that an elevated titer does not necessarily indicate an actual infection.

If you wish to rule out these diseases with absolute certainty, we recommend repeat testing in Germany from an age of approximately one year.

PCR testing in Hungary can often take a very long time. In addition, due to the long transport routes to the laboratories, there is a possibility of falsified or unreliable results.

Please also note that due to climatic changes, dogs can now become infected with these diseases in Germany as well. A possible infection therefore does not necessarily originate from the country of origin.
